For me, Wealthy Affiliate is worth more than the monthly subscription simply because of the web hosting. I own around 20 websites that I host there, and if I had to switch over and host the sites elsewhere the price would be way higher than what I’m paying now.

I’ve made friends at WA and have learned from people such as Travis Sago, Jennifer (a.k.a. PotPieGirl), Justin Brooke and even the owners Kyle and Carson. These guys (and gals) are class act marketers who have good ethics and give good advice for free inside.

You really should be careful where you start out because it can determine your destiny in the industry. Well I have a great solution for you!

A little over a month ago I found SocialAdr.com, which is a site that allows you to get backlinks to your website when published by other social bookmarking users.

The way it works when you sign up is you have the choice of 20 (currently) different social bookmarking sites to use such as Delicious, Spotback, Jumptags and more similar those. If you do not have a membership with any of these sites (all free to join), Social Adr offers a service to sign you up to all of these site for a fee. I signed up manually and it took me around 40 minutes to complete (less time than watching the Sons of Anarchy that night).

I do have a tip for you when signing up that can save you time of typing everything manually. Just open the notepad or something else similar on your computer and type in your username/email address and password so that you can copy and paste them when signing up. This will save a bunch of time.

This costs nothing but a couple minutes a day and has helped me reach page one on the SERPS a couple times already.

Claim Your Free Weebly Site Before Someone Else Gets the Website Name You Wanted!

Weebly also offers a paid version (I use this) that gives you more features and control over your sites, also allowing you to host up to 10 websites too. The paid version is not necessary to make a great looking website, but it does add some value to your websites in the long run and its very inexpensive.

The great thing about Weebly is that you can start out with a free sub-domain and poke around and see what you can do. If you mess up you can start it over without having to put any cost into it which is great for most people that I know.

What if I told you that I have a solution for you that can get a list before the day is over with? I was pretty fortunate to have someone show me the ropes so I’ve decided to share some of that knowledge today on my blog.

To build an email list for your website the traditional way you need to have 5 of these key elements:

Landing Page – This is also called a lead capture page. You want this page to convince visitors to become buyers or subscribers to your website. These pages should be keyword targeted for PPC campaigns that are using the same group of keywords, this will give you a good page rank (PR) and quality score with the search engines.

Aweber Account -This is so that you can create a sign up box for your website and manage your subscriber list. Aweber allows you to fully automate your follow up sequence to subscribers with tracking to see who is buying.

A Free Gift - This is to give away to your customers. You don’t have to give them a physical product such as an mp3 player, it can be something like a free eBook or a free subscription to your websites newsletter.There are lots of free things that you can find on the internet to give away if you just search for it in the right places. You should always contact the affiliate manager of a product to see if they have any creatives that you can use.

A Product – You need a product that you are going to promote to your audience. If it’s not a physical product I recommend using an affiliate link to the product. I will usually buy the products that I’m going to promote just to make sure they are good quality things, you can always return it if you don’t want the item you purchased. One of my rules is to never promote something I wouldn’t buy myself and be happy with.

Traffic – If you have no visitors at your website there is no way to make any sales. This is the one thing that will distinguish a person who will succeed in the online world and to those who are going to do nothing, or be a “fly by night website” as I like to call it. You can use PPC Marketing, Article Marketing, SEO techniques, Social Bookmarking and more to drive traffic to your website. The biggest key here is to make sure that your content on your website is targeted to the right audience with the right keywords.

While this is just a brief description of the steps I take in order to build a list for myself, you can get a lot more in depth training at the Wealthy Affiliate University in a course called Inside The List. But, and I haven’t told too many people until now how I have been the most successful at building lists, and it doesn’t require a website to do it which is the best part.

I usually don’t buy into the gurus selling the make money online products because I already have a place to mentor me. But when this past year when I saw this product on ClickBank called Mobile Monopoly, a course sold by Adam Horwitz, it was breaking all of the records for highest gravity for affiliates.

Well he was offering a money back guarantee so I figured what is there to lose, I’ll buy it and see what all the hype is about. The very first day I had about 200 new subscribers that were targeted for the fat loss niche. The great thing about it was that I was getting these people signing up to my list for less than .40¢ a subscriber (around $80 my first day) and they were very highly targeted.

If you know anything about lead generation you would know that this is a fairly good price for that many targeted leads. One of the great things is that  you can target just about any niche with this technique and pay the same amount as the next niche.

This can be a difficult task for some. When choosing a niche for the first time you can easily find yourself getting lost, I know this first hand because I did. I hope that this post can help you in finding a profitable niche for yourself.

When looking for a new niche and product to promote, the first thing you should start with is research. There are 3 kinds of research, and they are:

Market Research – Always look into the market you are planning on going into and see if there are other people promoting affiliate offers within the niche. If you see a bunch of affiliates promoting similar products this is a good indication that people are making money in that niche. If you see very little to no people promoting affiliate products this is usually (but not always!) a sign there is no money to be made there. This step should be completed in no more than 30 minutes.

Product Research – My next step is looking at the affiliate networks that I am already a member to and search for a related product. If I do not find one that satisfies me or if I’m looking for a specific product to promote I will usually do a Google search for ‘affiliate’ + ‘product name‘ to find it. I usually will spend no more than 30 minutes to an hour doing this step.

Keyword Research – This is probably what makes or breaks most campaigns for people, keywords, keywords, keywords. You want to find the keywords that are targeting the “buying cycle” of a consumer. For example, if you have a site promoting watches you would want to avoid keywords like watches or Rolex Watches because they are too broad. You see, the person on the other end of the computer searching for those terms does not really know what watch he/she wants to buy yet, but just that they are looking for watches in general.

People who search for a term like Rolex Daytona Oyster Perpetual Mens Watch know what kind  of watch that they are looking for and are probably close to being ready to buy, and that is why we consider these people in the “buying cycle”. If you can target these kinds of keywords with your campaigns you will have a much higher chance at having success.

To my surprise I found nothing on the front page of the Google Search Engine that really gave a good definition.

So what is a niche?

When you are talking in marketing terms, a niche is the type of product that you’re working with, or the kind of services you are offering. Say that you are promoting or creating a diet plan, this would be considered to be the “weight loss” or “health and fitness” niche. Another example is this site for instance, is in the “make money online” niche.

When you are new at affiliate marketing one of your first goal is to find a niche that you know about very well, and preferably something that you enjoy. I feel that this is very important because if you are not passionate about the product or service that you’re promoting it will affect your efforts and overall success.

This is one of the first mistakes that many new affiliate marketers make.  I believe this is because most gurus teach you how to promote their product(s), which are usually a “make money online” service. While there is a lot of money to be made in this niche, it is one of the most difficult for beginners. It’s hard to promote something when you don’t know everything about it yourself.

After establishing a niche you should research the different parts of that niche and target the ones you can compete in. What this means is separate the categories, such as Dieting, 6 Pack Abs Workout, Muscle Building and such. This would be an example of some of the different parts of the “health and fitness” niche.

You also have to make sure that you can compete in some of these categories. What I mean by this is that you don’t want to be promoting against the same keywords and same product that someone like Wal-Mart or Lowe’s is competing for. You wouldn’t stand a chance.

If you are new to affiliate marketing and feel that you have chosen the wrong niche, its not too late to start a new one. Sometimes deciding that a new path is evident will relieve stress and encourage you. After all the initial learning curve is over its just time to work with a product that you enjoy.
